In Q4 2021, the top five travel and local apps on a unified platform in Australia showcased varying performance trends. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics based on Sensor Tower data.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads throughout the quarter, starting at around 12.8K and peaking at approximately 21.5K in the final week of December. Weekly active users fluctuated, starting at 422.7K and ending with a notable rise to 417.1K.

Google Earth experienced a stable download trend, with numbers ranging from 15.5K to 19.2K. Active users also showed a steady pattern, beginning at 54.4K and reaching 62.7K by the end of December.

Airbnb had a gradual upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at 11.3K and increasing to 17.3K by the last week of December. Active users, however, saw a dip mid-quarter from 315.4K to 265.9K, before recovering to 332.3K at the end of the period.

Beam - Escooter sharing showed significant growth in weekly downloads, starting at 8.4K and surging to 29.3K by the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar upward trajectory, beginning at 23.5K and peaking at 54.1K.

Neuron E-scooters and E-bikes also demonstrated strong growth. Weekly downloads increased from 9.5K to 25.3K, while active users saw a substantial rise from 19.5K to 38.8K over the same period.
